Installing and Uninstalling RU Server

Before installation

  1. Make sure that the computer meets system requirements for the Server.
  2. Uninstall all earlier versions of the Server if any.
  3. Reboot the PC.
  4. Make sure you have administrative privileges when you install the Server.

Overview

You can install the Server on a dedicated computer located on your premises. This can be a regular Windows workstation or a Windows Server. Alternatively, you can install the Server on a Windows machine hosted at a web hosting provider.

In either case the Server must be directly accessible for your Viewers and Hosts by its IP address or DNS name. Learn more about making the server accessible.

Installing the Server

  1. Download the installer package.
  2. Run the file and click Next: Server installation step 1
  3. Select I accept... and click Next: Server installation step 2
  4. Select another destination folder if necessary: Server installation step 3
  5. Select the desired options: Server installation step 4
  6. Click Install. Installation process will begin. Server installation step 5
  7. Click Finish.
  8. Restart the computer.

Uninstalling the Server

To completely uninstall the Server:

  1. Uninstall the program using Windows Control Panel.
  2. Open Windows registry editor, locate and delete the following registry keys:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Usoris\Remote Utilities\MiniInternetId (server settings)
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Usoris\Remote Utilities\MiniInternetId (Admin Console settings)
  3. Reboot the PC.
