Problems using AltGr (Right Alt) keycodes with Windows Viewer and Linux Host
--
I'm using Windows Viewer 7.6.2.0 and Linux Host  1.0.19.q Beta 19, both with Swiss German keyboards, and I am unable to input any combinations which require the "Alt Gr" (right alt) key. I've tried both "Scan Code input" and "Unicode input"; they yield different results for some keys but none makes "Alt Gr" work. This is especially a problem because many characters like @ or "pipe" require Alt Gr to be pressed.
Hello Rolf,

Thank you for your message.

Could you please let us know what exact version of Linux your Host machine is running on? We will try to test it out in our environment to see if we can reproduce the issue.

Looking forward to your reply.

I'm using Ubuntu Server 24.04 as host:

cat /proc/version
Linux version 6.8.0-54-generic (buildd@lcy02-amd64-083) (x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc-13 (Ubuntu 13.3.0-6ubuntu2~24.04) 13.3.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.42) #56-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sat Feb  8 00:37:57 UTC 2025
cat /etc/default/keyboard
# KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE
# Consult the keyboard(5) manual page.
XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="ch"
XKBVARIANT="de_nodeadkeys"
XKBOPTIONS=""
BACKSPACE="guess"
Please note that I do have this issue only when connecting from Windows viewer. When connecting from a Linux viewer on a kubuntu 24.04 machine (1.0.19.q beta 19), everything works perfectly!
Hello Rolf,

Thank you for the clarification.

I will forward the issue to our developers so we can investigate this further and try to reproduce it.

I’ll get back to you with an update on this shortly.
