I have RUT viewer for linux (1.0.11.q beta 11) installed on Ubuntu 20.04.2. I have a Mini licence which covers 50 endpoints. This Mini licence is added to the Viewer. I have 31 endpoints added and I always get a messagre that my licence doesn't allow to use more than 30 computers.
I installed Viewer on Windows 10 as well and I added the same licence and that work fine on Windows.
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, the MINI license allowing only up to 30 connections to be added to the address book is a known issue in Viewer for Mac/Linux which will be fixed in the nearest update. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you have more questions.
I'm running the latest beta viewer on Ubuntu 22.04. Sometimes I can make a connection, but pretty often the application just crashes. Since I can't see any way to enable logging on the Linux Viewer, I atleast did a full backtrace on the coredump with .gdb:
robert@i9ubuntu:/tmp/rview.crash-dir$ gdb r-viewer -c CoreDump

We are happy to announce our first ever Remote Utilities Viewer for Mac and Linux. This is a native client for said operating systems and it doesn't require installing any additional frameworks.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How is this Viewer licensed?
A: This beta version for Mac and Linux is licensed the same way as Windows Viewer i.e. it requires a license key. The same license key can be used for all platforms.
Q: Can I import my existing address book from Viewer for Windows to Viewer for Mac or Linux?
A: Yes. Simply use the Address Book Manager and specify the path to your address book XML file. Viewer for Windows and Viewer for Mac/Linux use the same address book format.
Q: Can I use RU Server address book sync with Mac/Linux Viewer?
A: Yes, you can. When adding an address book in Mac/Linux Viewer you have an option to choose a remote (synchronized) address book and add your RU Server address.
Feel free to send us your feedback and bug reports.
Thanks!
When will the Mac version have file transfer capabilities?
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, we can't provide an approximate ETA on the File Transfer mode for Viewer for Mac/Linux yet. However, it will be definitely implemented either in the subsequent beta releases or in the final stable version release. Sorry for keeping you waiting.
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thank you.
I'm running Linux Mint 20.3 and was using the Viewer 1.0.11.q beta 11 perfectly well.
Since upgrading to the newer Version 1.0.12.q Beta 12 it will not run at all. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail.
Is there a link for the previous version please so i can get it working again?
thanks
James
Edit: Please see the message i got when i ran r-viewer from terminal
