Thank you for your feedback.

1. It looks like you trying to run/execute a .deb file. You must install it instead. 

apt install ./host1.0.27.b27_amd64.deb
# or
dpkg -i host1.0.27.b27_amd64.deb
2. The previously installed host might be running still. You need to uninstall it first: 

./r-host -uninstall
Support level: Pro
So far so good with the new v1.0.27.q beta 27 viewer on Debian 13 AMD64 running GNOME and Wayland! Love the new file transfer capability. Keep up the great work!

Is there any plans to be able to remotely upgrade a host version from the Linux Viewer side? This can only be done with the Windows Viewer side currently.

Yes, this is definitely in our plans. Ideally, this should encompass updating both Windows hosts and Linux/macOS hosts. We'll do our best to implement it as soon as possible.
Hello everyone,

The beta program for macOS and Linux is over. Remote Utilities 2.0.1 for macOS and Linux is out, and this is the first release of the desktop edition for these platforms.

Two things to know if you are coming from the beta builds:

- The version scheme has changed. Beta 27 was 1.0.27; the release is 2.0.1, and macOS and Linux share the same number from now on.
- The file names have changed too: viewer-2.0.1.dmg, host-2.0.1.pkg, agent-2.0.1.zip on macOS; viewer-2.0.1_amd64.deb, viewer-2.0.1_x86_64.rpm, viewer-2.0.1.tar.xz and the same for host, plus agent-2.0.1.tar.xz on Linux. Install the new package over the beta as a normal upgrade.

Thank you to everyone who tested the betas over these years and reported what they found. A lot of what shipped in 2.0.1 exists because of this thread.
