Viewer remote to host immediately sleep by moving mouse

Hi Phann,

I'm not sure this is caused by Remote Utilities. The program doesn't affect or change your power options or screensaver settings.

Thanks.

rfusclient.exe is corrupt error when installing - NO A/V installed

Hello David,

Thank you for your post.

The link you provided is a temporary link to a beta page. However, it should redirect to the normal download page at this URL https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/

This workstation does NOT have AV installed yet. When I launch C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\rutserv.exe in compatibility mode, the app starts (using windows troubleshooter) and runs.

This is not the way to start the Host. You should start it using the Windows Start menu -> Remote Utilities Host -> Start Host. Do not click directly on the exe file, that won't work.

By default the Host should start automatically once you install it. If it doesn't start (i.e. you don't see its icon in the system tray and no rutserv.exe and rfusclient.exe processes in Task Manager) then you should restart the Host computer.

Hope that helps.

Hello Phann,

Thank you for your post. Could you please clarify what the issue is?

Detect remote connection

How about  any  way of telling if someone is remotely connected to your computer? I understand the OP wondered about  programmatically  detecting it, but I only want to check on occasion--how would I find that out?

Thank you for your post.

The Host icon should go red when there is an active remote session. In this current version (6801) it doesn't turn red due to a bug in the final release, but that will be fixed in the upcoming 6.9 release.

Other than that, there are some "administrative" means to ensure that the remote user knows when someone is being connected to (or is attempting to connect) to their computer. They are:

Notification panel
Ask user permission feature

You can also enable sound and balloon hint in Host options:

Touch screen

Hello Jack,

I see. But unfortunately, so far this feature is not available. We will add it to our list of suggestions.

Touch screen

Hello Jack,

Thank you for your message.

Could you please clarify what exactly you mean by using the touch screen? Currently, the mobile client allows you to move the remote mouse pointer and send keystrokes.

FR: Advanced Hint Window to right-click

Hello Bart,

Of course. No problem. We'll see if we can include this feature in future updates.

(public ID server) Connections Constantly Dropping

Hello Kerry,

Thank you for your message.

We need to see the Host log to see what might be causing the issue. Note that whatever the problem with connectivity the Host log should reflect that. That's why this is essentially the only and final source of any information regarding connectivity problems.

You have also updated Viewer and Hosts to version 6.8.0.1, correct?

FR: Advanced Hint Window to right-click

Hello Bart,

You can already disable the advanced hint window on hover in Viewer options, the View tab.

As for adding it as an on-demand option, I've added this suggestion to our wishlist. Thanks!

FR: Last Time Online

Hello Bart,

This makes perfect sense, thank you. We will add this to our roadmap.
