I am a advance used and as it i will very often help a friend doing something or fixing something on is computer, i do this for free so it hard for me to pay for a solution but then i found "RemoteUtilities" Awesome tool to remote control desktop and bypass Firewall and NAT-traversal.
I am currently using a free license to control 14 friends computer, working exactly as planned for the NAT-Traversal with the callback feature, i created, very easily i must say, a auto install executable so my friend just have todo 1 click to install the receiver host software.
I do this post in the hope Search engine spider bot will track it and help other user like me find a replacement solution for [censored] for free or at a low cost in comparison to other similar service.
You can be sure i will push this tool with a commercial license at work

It seems like you have Windows 8 on the remote Host. Due to some "peculiarities" of the screen capture process on that operating system, the blank screen feature does not work properly for now on Windows 8. We have scheduled fixing this in the next minor release (version 5.7).

Having a functioning ipad app will be really useful to me.
We need to implement logging in the mobile version first. This will be done in one of the nearest updates. Without logging, it's hard to find the problem, it would be just guesses.
Meanwhile, could you please send us Host logs to email@example.com. They are located in C:\Program Files\Remote Utilities - Host\Logs . You can zip the Logs folder before sending. In the message, please also specify in approximately what time of the day you were attempting connection from iPad. Since you were also connecting to the Host from the desktop Viewer, we need to distinguish that somehow.

Each software has its quirks :) The alpha-blending related question has become so legendary among our support team, that we even made a separate KB article for it.
