Is it possible to login remotely to my host, such as after a reboot? Sorry for layman's terms, but in an attempt to be clear: If I want to reboot during a remote session and then regain control of the host unattended. Or does someone have to be present at the host to log in?

Sure, it's possible, but only if you use the Host module. For more information please refer to this Documentation article on unattended support.
Also, please check that the startup mode of the Host service is set to Auto.

Is there a way to use the Task Scheduler to auto start the host? I thought I saw a guide to do that somewhere & I can't find it now. I'm having problems with a client's host not starting now after a W10 upgrade.

If the startup mode is set to Auto, the Host service starts automatically. If the service doesn't start, there might be an issue caused by the antivirus/security software. Please try completely uninstalling the Host and then install it from scratch as described here: https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/installing-and-uninstalling/#Uninstalling_Host.
I also highly recommend that you add the Host installation folder to antivirus software exceptions list to avoid future problems in this regard.
Please let us know if the problem persists.

Also sometimes when doing a simple upgrade the host fails to start afterwards & requires manually starting the host.

This is a known issue and it was fixed in the version 6.10.8.0.
This is not an issue specifically with the simple update. For some reason, Windows Restart Manager (which may act as part of the msi installation procedure) failed to restart Remote Utilities Host service after the update.
We decided to completely re-write the update process and we implemented this change in the previous version (6.10.8.0).  

This fix has one downside - unfortunately, it does not work retrospectively. The new process applies when updating Hosts version 6.10.8.0 (i.e. the previous version) and later.

When updating older versions, you can use the Remote Install tool as a workaround and an alternative to simple update. In this tool, the upgrade process uses a slightly different approach, so it should help to override the problem with the restart manager. You will need a Host msi installer to "feed" into the tool. What is the status of being able to see the synchronized address book in the phone / mobile apps?

The full-fledged address book for the mobile version could be available by the end of the year. We plan to release it after the Mac/Linux version.

It looks like that the last time the android native app was updated was in 2014

Could you please clarify what version of the mobile Viewer do you use? The latest version is 11.22.0 and it was released on October 22, 2018.

The ID had letters and numbers starting with V. The ID shown didn't match any of my numerical ID's so I had a big wtf moment.

This is the Viewer ID. The Active tab in the admin console shows Viewers and Hosts that are currently using this server for a remote session. Please refer to this article for more information.

So it was appearing under Active when it wasn't working and it's no longer appearing when it really is working. That's just backwards

Unfortunately, we couldn't reproduce the issue. However, we plan to release a newer version of Remote Utilities later today. Please try updating Host, Viewer and RU Server once the updated version is out and see if the problem persists.

Unfortunately, this might be a side effect of using the monitor driver. So if you do not absolutely need it (i.e. for the blank remote screen feature) you are advised to disable it.

The monitor driver can be uninstalled from within the Host settings:
