[Resolved] Overloaded servers

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

There is no overloading whatsoever. Our server infrastructure can sustain a peak load several times higher than usual.

Version software 7.2.2.0

We recommend that you update your version to the current 7.6.2.0. Make sure that you update both Viewer and Host/Hosts.

Hope that helps.

Host Cannot connect to server

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

We didn't block access to our servers from Russia. However, please, note that your ISP may be blocking access to US- or EU-based service. Unfortunately, we cannot help with that issue.

Alternatively, you can use a dedicated Russian product called "RMS - Remote Manipulator System" which is optimized for Russia and CIS.

Hope that helps.

How to work simultaneously on different user accounts using RU.

Hello Nguyen,

Thank you for your message.

What you're describing refers to multiple terminal sessions. Remote Utilities does allow you to connect to existing terminal sessions on a remote machine (such as the console session or active RDP sessions), but it does not support creating new terminal sessions.

To initiate and manage multiple simultaneous user sessions on a Windows Server, you would need the appropriate Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) CALs (Client Access Licenses).

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Beta testing: Remote Utilities for macOS/Linux

Hi Daryl,

Yes, it should. Raspberry Pi OS is Debian-based.

Thanks.

How to suppress Disclaimer on Agent

Hi Dion,

Please, note that we remove posts that advertise other remote control software on this forum.

As for the disclaimer in question - in the upcoming update we will remove our logo and make the disclaimer smaller, leaving only the necesssary text.

Thanks.

How to suppress Disclaimer on Agent

Hello Dion,

Thank you for your message.

We would be more than happy to completely remove all privacy warnings, just like it was a few years ago—when the paranoia level of so-called "security" software was still at a manageable level.

Unfortunately, today, removing privacy warnings would immediately result in the software being flagged as dangerous and, in many cases, automatically removed by antivirus programs. This is the reality we have to navigate in order to keep Remote Utilities usable and trusted across modern systems.

We appreciate your understanding.

Virus detected while executing viewer-7.6.2.0.exe

Hello Shane,

Thank you for the screenshots. We've just checked the file again with the most recent definitions and there was no detection. Here is a screenshot of the definitions version:

Feel free to refer to this article on Microsoft website on how to get the most recent updates.

P.S. You can place screenshots directly in the post using the 'upload image' link under the text field.

Virus detected while executing viewer-7.6.2.0.exe

Hello Shane,

Thank you for your message.

Judging by the screenshot, this appears to be an issue that previously occurred with Windows Defender. However, Microsoft has informed us that the issue has since been resolved.

Please make sure your Windows Defender is up to date to apply the fix. If the issue persists after updating, please let us know.

Connecting on new computer

Hello Hal,

If the inbound TCP port 5650 is open on the Host PC, the Host service is running, and the Viewer and Host are in the same subnet, there shouldn’t be any reason why the connection wouldn’t work—except, perhaps, interference from security software.

Connecting on new computer

Hello Hal,

With a direct connection, it’s a different story—you do not need to check connectivity with the ID server at all. For direct connections, Internet-ID is not required, and you don’t even need to enable it in the Host settings if you plan to connect directly.

When direct connection issues arise, they are usually related to local IP addressing (routing/traversing) and port configuration. For instance, if the Viewer and Host are on the same network but different subnets—i.e., separated by a router—you’ll need to set up a port forwarding rule on that router. Without this, the Viewer cannot reach the Host via direct connection.

Additionally, make sure the listening port on the Host computer (5650 by default) is not blocked by Windows Firewall or any third-party firewall on that machine.

Have you already referred to the Knowledge Base article “Direct connection not working”? It lists all possible reasons why a direct connection might fail.

Let me know if you need further help.
