Active Directory Sync
Hello Patrick,
Apologies for a somewhat misleading previous reply. If you already have your AD integrations with RU Server set up and running, you do not need to manually add and refresh the Domain controller or connections.
Regarding the syncing issue - could you please make sure sure that you have a sync schedule set up and enabled as described here (it’s the very last section)?
Looking forward to your reply.

Hello Patrick,
Thank you for your message.
Just to clarify, does the AD Tree update if you manually click Refresh as shown in this guide?
Looking forward to your reply.

Beta testing: Remote Utilities for macOS/Linux
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your message.
I’m glad to hear Host for Linux is working well for you. Thank you for the feedback.
Unfortunately, RU Server is only supported by Windows-based OSs as of now, however, we are working on making RU Server available on other platforms, such as Mac and Linux. Unfortunately, we cannot currently provide any specific ETA on when it might be available.
Let us know if you have more questions.

Hello James,
Thank you for your message.
Could you please clarify what exact version of Remote Utilities you’re currently running and which version of Linux Mint you’re currently using? We will try and see if we’re able to reproduce the issue on our end.
Looking forward to your reply.

C2 Defender Alerts
Hello Josh,
Thank you for your message.
We did receive one more report about this behavior from our user, however, it’s a false positive detection. Some security and endpoint protection products occasionally flag remote access software this way because it maintains a persistent connection for remote control functionality.
Adding Remote Utilities installation folders to the security software’s allowlist will prevent these alerts in the future. In order to do so, you can follow this guide

Hello Patrick,
Thank you for the clarification.
In this case, we would recommend you to try re-installing RU Server from scratch. Here’s a guide on how to fully uninstall RU Server from your system.
We also suggest you make a back up of the Server’s data and settings prior to uninstalling it, following this guide.
Let us know if the issue persists after reinstalling RU Server.
