Windows version - Legacy Capture

The difference between the default and legacy capture modes has to do with how screen capture is processed deep inside the operating system. Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 require certain modifications to the screen capture mechanism. On the surface this difference just manifests itself in that check box that the user can check or uncheck to resolve problems with screen capture.
Regarding the issue - could you please clarify what exactly happens when you can’t connect to a remote Host? Do you see any connection attempts or the “world map” loading screen?

Yes, you can install Host on any number of machines. However, please note that address book can only have up to 20 remote connections added at a time (including on your RU Server) - you can replace them as needed since licenses are not tied to a specific workstation. Perhaps, the issue might be caused by some components found in the Windows System update. Are you able to tell if there was a Windows update performed prior to the issue occurring?

License format

Could you please clarify what version of Remote Utilities you’re currently using? If you’re using version 7, please note that it requires a new license key as well. If your key is stored in a text format and *txt file, then it’s an older license key for version 6.
If the license key was a free license key of version 6, you can easily request a new license key using this form. If this was a commercial license key, you can check if it’s eligible for a free upgrade using this form.

Ability to capture / record voice from microphone of host

Unfortunately, Remote Utilities does not support recording the microphone input of a remote Host. You’re still able to record the microphone input during the Voice and Video call mode using a third-party software if needed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
