Hello,

Thank you for your request.

Yes, you should buy the commercial license. However, we offer a discount for non-profit organizations. Please, send a message to sales@remote-utilities.com via e-mail so that we can reply to you with the details.

[resolved] Different users on host PC

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for your post.

You can specify the user in connection properties, on the Security tab, see "Send user name" field in the additional group.

Can I connect to the same time to different users?

Yes, you can. Just create two address book records with two different users.

Don't forget to create users and set permissions first. See Host settings -> Security -> Authorization tab (link Users and Access Control).

Hope that helps.

Shawn,

Are there any details for each message? They can be useful in determining what happened.

If you are not sure about posting them on the forum you can send them via support request form  https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/tickets/ . Or even better, zip and send us the entire log file/files.

Thanks.

Most likely this error has nothing to do with the issue. Sometimes when you install the Host a reboot is required anyway.

We can probably need to change the status of this error to just "warning" or even "informational message".

Sorry for any confusion that might have caused.

Hello Shawn,

Create two identical remote connections (to the same PC, that is). Open them in Full Control or View mode, and you will have two tabs connected to the same PC and same entire desktop. Then switch to the first monitor on the first tab, and to the second monitor on the second tab. Each tab then will be connected to its own monitor on the same remote PC.

You can also detach the tabs from the mother window if that what you mean by "pop-outness". To do that, open the View Options -> Remote Screen -> and uncheck Tabbed View.

Hope that helps.

Hello Shawn,

Try to enable "Capture alpha-blending windows" and see if the right menu is visible with that feature on.

You can hide the Remote Utilities Host icon in Host Settings -> Options -> General tab. Just uncheck the "Show icon in system tray" check box.

Please, note that this feature is only available in the commercial edition of Remote Utilities and not available in the free edition.

UPDATE: Starting 2015 hiding Host tray icon is no longer possible in Remote Utilities.
