Hello John,
Yes, it takes some time getting used to. :)
P.S. We reverse-updated our initial news/blog post about this key combination so as not to mislead the users who browse the website and read relative old news. It used to say "Shift+Alt+Tab" at first.

Conrad, do you have a eta?
We'll most likely implement this in the version next after the upcoming one, if there are no other more pressing priorities. Timewise, it's by Christmas or so.
Don't hesitate to ask me if you have other questions.

Hello John,
Since starting version 6 the registration process is entirely on the Viewer side, unregistering Hosts is no longer relevant. So you can simply delete the Host from your address book.
Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll take a look at it.john kumpf wrote:
Then I suggest the best answer is Shift + F12 (or whatever) works temporarily upon the next Alt + Tab or Shift + Alt + Tab. Just not simultaneous. One then the other. Shift + F12 then let go, then, Alt + Tab. If you click or hit some other key or move the mouse or return the window to focus, the effect of Shift + F12 goes away. Or maybe its effect just times out. That's why we use a modifier instead that works temporarily, i.e. when pressed.
Or implement both methods.

Hi John,
Yes, this is our next priority after the we release version 6.5. We are going to make a full-fledged exportable/importable address book in the mobile viewer, so that you could seamlessly sync it with your desktop Viewer.

BTW, I should update this thread. We had a remote session and found out that it was version mismatch between Viewer and Host. I.e. an older Viewer was used for configuration. Updating the Viewer to the most recent version fixed the problem.
A word of advice to anyone who uses MSI Configurator: before starting the configuration process please make sure that Viewer and Host are the same version, preferably the latest one.

Hello Stefan,
If you have issues with installation/uninstallation on your PC, feel free to run this tool from Microsoft to fix these issues https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall . I assume that it's because of those problems that you cannot run the MSI configuration properly on that PC.
If it were the case this forum would have been flooded with messages about package not uninstalling itself correctly. Besides, there is nothing special about the uninstaller - it's plain Microsoft MSI installer, we didn't invent the wheel. Can I say that this package terribly uninstalls it self?

Hello Stefan,
So you uninstalled the Host, removed the above-mentioned registry key, you are not having the Agent the running. Correct?
You run the Viewer as administrator, try the MSI configuration process - and you receive the error. Is that the case?

Hi John,
Yes, but the whole point is that the number of special keys is limited :) Besides, using a "mode-based" switch is cumbersome for users. They need to remember each time in what mode they are in (i.e. in "local swithing" or "remote switching" mode). That's why we use a modifier instead that works temporarily, i.e. when pressed. But having the Q be typed remotely is not ideal. So you first have to make sure the program that's in focus remotely does not respond to Q. So it's still a two step process. So, again, i think some special key to switch focus back to local windows (which is also an extra step) is cleaner, and an acceptable lack of convenience.
And we are going to expand it even more :) Namely, add more tutorial videos. That documentation you mention sounds very useful!

In order to entirely wipe the Host settings, you need to delete this key:Stefan Lenders wrote:
