We added a new feature request to our wishlist/roadmap. A new parameter called "/update" that when used together with /create would allow exactly what you described.
Thanks.
Thanks.

We can only regret that this update alienated some customers, but we had to do what we've done. Only a few months ago before this update we had a dozen false positives from various a/v programs, whereas now there's almost nil.

It should be a reasonable size, like 1-2 Mb at maximum, but I can find out an exact figure, if that matters.

Hi Gary,
Your license is not lost :) The registration key for Remote Utilities is just a static key that you apply in the program. In version 6 you apply it on the Viewer side so that the Viewer can count the number of records in your address book against what your license key allows.
Even if you have a commercial license for version 5.6 and wish to continue using that version, it's not a problem. Simply re-use your license key to register the Hosts after you re-install them. If you don't have host5.6.msi installer we'll provide you with a to download it.
If you want to upgrade to version 6.x, you must upgrade your license key as well. Please note that free upgrade is only available in case you purchased your 5.x license key after December 15, 2013. This is because we offer 1 year of free major upgrades to all customers, and version 6.0 was released December 16, 2014.

Hello Christopher,
Thank you. We revamped the documentation page https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/viewer-parameters/In the help file it is confusing since only NAME and PASSWORD specify you can use a : .
Since the ID was not supposed to be changed often, on the Host side that is, there is no such "update" option. But I will forward this to our developers to see what can be done.If The Name specified already exists in the viewer program and the Internet ID has changed I would assume the Viewer would overwrite the Internet ID or IP if I specify it with the /HOST parameter. But it does not. It just tries to open it with the previous ID/IP.

Hello Gary,
Hope that helps.
No. Just delete the associated records from your Viewer address book.Am I just doomed here?
You no longer have to deregister anything because the Host is a "free floating" module starting version 6. Even if you have old 5.6 Hosts that you want to upgrade to version 6, just do that (upgrade that is) and you are done. Your registration information is not kept anywhere except the Host PC itself. So when the old installation is gone, you are good to go with the new one. Also, if I could click a button to just deregister everything and reregisters everything that would be great. I cannot even figure out how to deregister a current host with the latest updates :(.
Hope that helps.

Hi Christopher,
First and foremost it's a new permission management system that utilizes our RU Server, namely adds a new role to it. Just like a domain controller in Active Directory, our RU Server will be the central repository for user accounts and their permissions, and admins will be able to manage Host permissions centrally, rather than individually as it is now.

Hello Christopher,
Thank you for the kind words. You are absolutely correct meaning that if the software is used legitimately, there is no reason for the admin to hide it.
Just wanted to say though that it's not me who created the program :) I'm just a support guy who works in the same team with people much cleverer than him. But thank you anyway.

Hello Christopher,
Hm. You mean the Windows image file or anything different? There are no special requirements for that. The Agent itself, both the vanilla and a configured installer, has the size of approximately 3-4Mb.

Hello Christopher,
You should specify the ID itself after the Host. The full command is:
