This can happen if you still move (or accidentally move) your cursor. So long as you do no move it the remote side can move their cursor without the snapping effect.

By default the trial version is installed. You can generate a free license key and register the program as described here https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/free-license/

By the way, starting 6.5 beta we updated the installation wizard. Now during installation the Viewer asks whether you want to install the trial version or generate and apply a free license right away.

This looks like an old issue with MSI cache not cleaned up properly.
