[resolved] Remote Utilities thru a tunnel

Thanks for the kind words.  8) We are going to release the version 5.1 soon. This one will have some major improvements, so stay tuned. I would recommend you subscribing to our product newsletter, the subscription form is available on the home page. This way you will get notified about the new version when it is out.

P.S. "Soon" here means "within a 1-1.5 month timeframe".

[resolved] Remote Utilities thru a tunnel

Hi Alex,

1. No, SSH tunnel is not in our plans.

2. RDP has nothing to do with RUT's performance. You can check it for yourself if you use the generic RDP client instead of RUT-Viewer. As for the remote feature, you probably meant 'Full control' or 'View only' mode. Try to reduce the color depth a little bit, and use the 'Economode'. You will find both these settings in the 'Properties' for the connection in the RUT-Viewer.

BTW, I would recommend you upgrading to the v.5.0.  :) Apart from new features, such as the Internet ID, there were numerous little fixes that were made in the version 5.0.

Thanks.

Knowledge Base

Hi Genie,

Long time no see :) Thanks for visiting.

Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base is available at https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/kb/. This is a comprehensive 'encyclopedia' about Remote Utilities, which contains answers to frequently asked questions and definitions of the terms used throughout the program's interface and this website.

How to use the Knowledge Base

The content in the KB is organized around tags. Each tag can be assigned to many articles, and each article can be labeled with many tags. Tags are accessible from any KB page; the number in the parentheses shows how many articles are labeled with a tag.

There are basically two ways to find what you are looking for:

- Browsing by tags
- Using search

You can also use the 'Related' links below each article to quickly navigate to related information.

We will review the KB and add new articles on a regular basis. If you didn't find what you were looking for in the KB or have any suggestions feel free to send us a message via a support ticket.

Thank you!

Do the same thing simultaneously on several remote computers

Hi Genie,

That sounds interesting. I'll ask our tech guys if that's possible.

Thanks for the suggestion.  :)

Start the viewer minimized in the system tray

That's no problem. We'll add that to the 5.1.  :)

[Implemented in v5.1] A tiny enhancement

Hello Genie,

Thanks. We'll fix this in the upcoming version 5.1.

[Existing feature] One left click to...

Hi, Genie,

Ok, we'll put it on our implementation list for the next version.  :)

Take a screenshot manually

Bonjour, Genie

Here's the way you can take a screenshot of a remote desktop:

1. In the Full Control or View window click on the program icon in the top left corner of the window, where the title is.

2. In the menu, select 'Send key' -> 'Print screen'.

3. Grab the screenshot from the remote PC by clicking on the 'Get remote clipboard' button on the pop-up toolbar.

Now the screenshot is in your local PC's memory and you can save it just as you normally do on Windows (e.g. paste it into Paint and save as jpeg file).

We'll see if we can do something more quick and convenient about taking remote screenshots in the future releases.
