Hello Bernie,

Thank you for your message.

We are planning to release Viewer for Mac first. The Host is going to come later, but not this year.

Hi EJ,

Couple of more questions:

1. Where specifically (in what window/dialog) are you trying to enter the password?

2. Do you have any third party, i.e. non-Microsoft, security software installed on the server?

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi EJ,

Sorry, one more question. When you updated Remote Utilities, did you restart the server machine? It is recommended you do so if possible.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hello EJ,

Thank you for your message.

Is this happening in all cases? I.e. is it 100% reproducible or just happens erratically?

Hello Frank,

Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, a full-fledged address book hasn't been available in the mobile version yet. However, we are planning to implement it very soon.

So far in the mobile version you can only have your address book as a simple list of entries.

Don't hesitate to ask me if you have other questions.

Hello Marv,

Thank you for your post.

And the "Update outdated hosts" selection in the viewer seems to be hit or miss - sometimes it works, sometimes not, sometimes if I run it three or four consecutive times for a given host it will finally work.

The Simple update feature works for version 6.6.0.3 onwards. If you attempt to update earlier Hosts, it won't work on them because older Hosts simply don't have the code that would process the update (make it happen).

Here is more about update and Simple update https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/updating-remote-utilities/

These irritations have been pretty consistent throughout the last few versions (just updated to 6.8.0.1 tonight).

There were indeed some issues with MSI, update and Host not starting in the several recent versions and we fixed them. For example, see our Release Notes for version 6.7.0.2.

What's the prognosis? I know this sounds like just a general rant rather than specific problems to solve, but I'm not imaging it and I really want to keep liking and using your software.

Try to make sure you update both sides - Viewer and Host - to version 6.8.0.1 and let us know if you find any issues.

Thank you.

Hello Mike,

Thank you for your post.

Actually, you do not need the old installer. This is an issue with MSI temporary files. You just to clear fix program uninstall. Microsoft offers a free fixing tool for that:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed

After you fixed the problem you can try installing the latest Viewer.

Let us know if it works for you. Thanks.
