This feature will be included in the next major update of the mobile version which is the priority we are currently working on.

In general, why doesn't the toolbar at the top/middle of the screen appear in the Android version of Viewer as it does in the Windows version of Viewer?

Not all features can be implemented the same way as they exist in the desktop version. Yet, we will do our best to include as many important features in the mobile update as possible. One of them is a full-fledged address book compatible with the desktop Viewer's address book.

Thank you. So apparently there is no version mismatch. The Host logs should be examined first to see if Host has any issues connecting to the server. You can locate the logs in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\Logs

There is the current stable version 6.8.0.1 available from the regular download page, and a new beta version. In a few days we are going to roll out the final 6.9 release and this new version will replace version 6.8.

Unfortunately, we do not provide earlier versions. We always recommend that you use the latest version, on both sides (Viewer and Host). Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the bug you may encounter is something new and not just a known bug that is already fixed in a subsequent update.

Frankly speaking there is nothing else we can recommend other than completely uninstall the Host and re-install it, as mentioned in the item #2 earlier. Remote Utilities installer uses Microsoft's MSI technology/format. If you cannot install the software in the first place this may point at issues with MSI. Could you tell us the versions of Viewer, Host and Server that you have. You can check version numbers in the program About window in each respective module.

Please, do the following:

1. Add the Host installer to your antivirus software exceptions list. Specifically, add two folders to the exceptions:  the folder where you downloaded the installer (I also recommend that you re-download the file) and the target folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host". The latter may not be created yet, just add it manually to your a/v exceptions.

2. Clean up the older installation. Follow this Uninstall Host guide.

3. You may also check the Microsoft Fixit tool in case you cannot get rid of your previous installation.

Once you complete the steps above, restart your computer and try installing again. Make sure that the Windows account has full administrative privileges because they are required when installing the Host (it runs as a system service after the installation).
