Version 6.5 BETA
Thank you for your message.
I've just tried to build a custom agent on a clean Windows 10 machine with beta 2 installed, and the logo worked:tried to use the msi configurator in the new viewer beta and I seem unable to make my logo stick ?
when it creates the new agent exe my logo is missing ?
have been able to do this with the final edition no problem.
Please, make sure that you specify the beta 2Host in the Step 1 of the MSI Configurator, not the stable 6.3.x.x. Host. If you still have the issue, please send us your graphic file to support@remote-utilities.com for examination.
This is expected behavior. Agent cannot override UAC, unless it is run as an administrator. Only the Host can. Here is a related KB article https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/kb/cannot-override-uac-on-the-remote-pc/.Also try as I may not been successful with using the run after reboot either ?
it works but always get the UAC prompt ( meaning it requires a manual acceptance as the agent runs) no matter what i have tried with security settings / permissions etc.
Let me know if I can provide more assistance. Thanks.
How to change AGENT server to private
Thank you for your post. I will keep this thread and delete other duplicates then.
As for your question, you need to specify your custom server address and port in the last step of the configuration process where you are presented with the Host settings dialog. For that dialog to appear in the step 4 you must select "Pre-configure host settings":The ultimate goal will be to create a new AGENT.EXE thats branded and points to our private server.
Then in the Host settings dialog click Settings for Host -> Internet ID connection settings -> Advanced -> Select ID server. There'll be a window where you can enter your server's address:
Then close all the dialogs and the configuration process will finish.
Make sure that if you use the beta version, you use it for all modules. For example, when configuring your agent file feed the beta Host installer to the MSI Configurator, not the stable Host version file. If the errors persist, let us know the error text.when i tested this i had access violations all over the place (but the server and host / agent) are all on 1 PC for testing.
Thank you.
Android App Comments
While we cannot reproduce the bug we still note down your report in our bug tracking. We'll be updating the mobile version soon - there's going to be a significant revamp of it - so any feedback is helpful.
Thank you.
Android App Comments
Sorry, there's another question - on the remote PC did you install the current stable Host (6.3.0.6) or the latest beta?

Thank you for your message.
Have you upgraded your mobile client to the most recent version?
Access Network Shares/Drives
Mapped drive support was added back in the end of 2014, in version 6.0. Here are the release notes. Please, update Remote Utilities (Viewer and Hosts) to the most recent version.
We recommend checking the latest beta version. It is available here https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/beta.php
Shared local address book
Thank you for your post.
There are multiple ways to share the same address book, they are described in this section. So long as you are already using the Server, then the best way to sync the book will be through the server. I highly recommend then that you start using the 6.5 beta version (downloadable here), because in this beta the entire sync mechanism and security model has been changed and vastly improved as compared with the current stable version and previous versions.
Don't hesitate to ask me if you have other questions.
Alpha blending and Blank user screen
Unfortunately, it is how it works on Windows 7. The new monitor driver that we implemented in the recent beta version and that fixes many issues with "blank remote screen" feature only works starting Windows 8/10.
ALT TAB switching slow
Sure, let's schedule a time then. I will send you an email.
Have a great day!
Version 6.5 BETA
So we found the reason. I'm afraid the only remedy here would be to contact Webroot and report this problem. We do our best to keep the number of false positives low, but as you can see there is always something that slips through the cracks. A/V companies usually pay little attention to their fellow software developer requests, but they will listen to you - their customer. So I shut down Webroot, started the service and it's been connected now for more than an hour! Although I do have to report a few minutes ago the icon for the host is no longer in my taskbar, though the service is still running and I can connect/logon. I do have rutserv.exe, rfusclient.exe, ripcserver.dll, and rwln.dll all on the Allow list in Webroot. I restarted Webroot and within a couple minutes the service crashed.
