Error #1202 in AD

Hi:

I can´t use Remote Installation in Active Directory,  it gives me Error # 1202:

"Unable to connect to a network drive.
The name of the local device has a memorized connection to another network resource "

I am Domain Administrator.

Hi Jorge,

Thank you for your post.

Please, check if the drive letter Z is available on the Viewer PC. This drive letter is temporarily used during update operations in the Remote Install tool.

Let me know if the problem persists.

I have this same issue but there is no Z Drive mapped within windows.... please help

Hello James:

Check in CMD.EXE (Console mode) if you have an active connection with the "Net Use" command.

Verify that the computer has Windows Professional version, the Home versions are not administrable in a domain.

The same problem, but Z: is reserved for specific purpose within our company. Is there any workaround?

Hi Jorge.

Way around this is:

1. Set a single password authentication
2. When you want to upgrade Host, chose connection type Remote Utilities security
3. Select your preconfigured MSI and process it.

It works this way.

Hi,

@Lukasz Pacholik's solution only works in the situation where there is already an agent installed on the remote device and you are simply looking to upgrade.

We do not have the Z: drive reserved for any internal purposes but are seeing the error.

Are there any work arounds, further to those already described, that might allow us the remote install?

Thank you for your message.

Could you please clarify if you mean that you want to push-install the Host across your Windows network using GPO? If this is the case, please make sure that the admin$ (admin share) is allowed on the remote machines and you have access to it.
If you mean something else, please let us know.
