Agent + Windows safe mode beware?
Support level: Free or trial
Am I missing something? Tried using Agent on a test system here. I enabled the start on reboot enabled, but RU gives you the option under Power to Reboot the computer into Safe Mode but that puts the remote system permanently into safe mode UNTIL someone at the remote end brings up MSCONFIG and disables Safe Mode boot under the Boot Tab.
I do support and sometimes I need to do an attended support session and on some occasions have to boot into WIndows11 Safe Mode. It seems that if one is using Agent then this can get the tech into a dicey situation IF the person at the remote end is not tech savy at all.

I deal with unattended connections as well as on demand connections. Some of the on demand connections are repeat customers or new customers. I assume that I have to keep the entries in my addressbook at or below 50 if I purchase a Pro license.
Do Agent sessions saved in the address book consume a controlled-device license slot.

Attended access entries disappear after connection is closed

Viewer 7.8.4 and current host off your website. I created an entry for unattended access. The entry was saved in my portable version of remote util on my downloads folder. I decided to remove the unattended aspect and enable Ask User Permisison on the host. I create the entry in my viewer. The entry is saved. I click on the entry I connect after the host person accepts my connection. When I close the connection the entry disappears. I have spent an hour trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Both are Win11 25H2 boxes..

I do not know if it is much of an improvement or not. For instance when I click on the Host icon in the systray, while connected and select SETTINGS FOR HOST, UAC pops up relatively quickly. I click on YES and it takes at least 5 seconds before I see the Host Setting screen show up. The Host is an i7-14700 on Win11 25H2 and the viewer is a AMD 5900XT on the same LAN on a 500/500 Fiber connection.

Using 7.8.4.0 of the viewer and 7.8.4.0 and the response is horrendous. I click on something that causes a UAC popup I click on the accept and there is at least a 5 second delay before I see a response from the remote system.
The remote system is a i7-14700 next to my computer. It is currently running on wifi but I am seeing the same response on a wired connection on my 500/500 fibre internet connection here.
I have no such delay using another remote access app instead.

Thanks for the explanation. I am trying to make the process as simple as I can for the users I have to support. I guess in this situation once they have Agent Module running I could install the Host after I am connected to their computer and if need be uninstall it afterwards.
A couple of questions. Is there any way I can change the name that is showing up on their computer, whether their computer is using the Agent module or Host? Right now, it is showing the name of my computer on my network. I would like to have it say my name instead.
Your software requires one to logout to get the connection to close. Is there anyway on my end to have the connection to close when I close the viewer window instead?

Using viewer 7.7.3.0 viewer free and Host 7,7.3.0. I am looking at an idiot proof way of providing ondemand as well as unattended access. I currently have the free license.
I have two computers here that I was testing on. The viewer is Win11 24H2 and the Host is 25H2. I downloaded the Host just today and installed it. For some reason when I click on the 25H2 computer in the viewer on the 24H2 computer I get Remote Registry! Why is this happening?
If I select Full Control I get connected but why can I not have this Full Control as default?
On some support sessions I am remoting into a standard user account (which would have the host installed) and may have to login to the administrator account on the system. It doesn't seem to be possible with Remote Utilities to do this. It appears the Host is only installed in the standard user account so if I log out of that account in Windows I sever the connection to the remote computer.
I need to be able to have the person who is usually not tech savy be able to download an executable and give me the login credentials over the phone to allow me to fix the problem at hand. This appears to be telling them to go to Remote Utilities website go to Download Select Windows and download the Agent.exe however in the above standard user situation this would cause the session to terminate if I needed to go into the Admin account. Even if they were tech savy enough to some how installed the Host exe that too would loose connection if I logout of the account to get into another account on the PC because even the Host install seems to be limited to only the one account.
Am I overlooking something here?

How can I update host's remotely?

No since I did not realize that there was yet another update a day after I had just updated the Viewer 2 days before. I just thought the banner notice was regarding the updated viewer I had applied 2 days before.

I had a remote system that was using 7.2.2.0 and the viewer was at 7.6.1.0. I downloaded the host on the remote system and started the installation. It had to remove the older version but when it did I lost remote access to the system. How is one supposed to do a remote upgrade to systems?
