Using v6.10.10.0 recently, updated fr om v6.8.0.
Had been using single password as admin access on host, RU security for users.
Now, host se t for both security types, host doesn't respond to single password, only RU security, requires both user name and password.
Have reviewed topic Security, which both indicates both methods can be used, can't seem to find how.
Any help as to wh ere to find answer?
Thanks,
victora

Hello Victor,
Thank you for your message.
Could you please double-check and let us know what authentication method is set for your Host in the Connection Properties window, on the Authentication tab?
Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Polina, happy new year!
If I understand your question, in the Connection Properties, Authorization, authorization method is Auto.
Other choices are Single password, Remote Utilities security, Windows security, and Custom server security.
Also thanks for your response, nice to have support available.
Regards,
Victor

Hello Victor,
If multiple authentication methods are enabled on the remote Host (e.g. Single password, AND RU Security etc.) the program still uses one of them during a connection. Which one depends on your settings on the Viewer side -> Connection properties -> Authentication tab.
If Auto is set the Viewer uses the first available authentication method according to this order:
Custom Server Security (CSS)
Windows Security
Remote Utilities Security
Single password
As you can see, since you have enabled RU Security and Single password and have your auth method set to Auto, Viewer will always force RU Security when you authenticate.
To override this behavior for specific Hosts you just need to select the desired authentication method in the drop down list and Viewer will always use that. In your example just select Single password to override the automatic sequence check.
Hope that helps.
