I have the exact same issue.  The work around is to use the accessibility option on the login screen to bring up the online keyboard.  From there, you can use the CAD command.

It's consistent with multiple workstations on Win7 32-bit.  It's annoying, but you can get in.

How do you get the on screen keyboard to accept the CAD command?  it does not work for me... I also tried the last 2 RUT updates but they don't work either.. I wouldn't get your hopes up on them fixing this issue, I don't think they care... every issue I have run into they say they will look into it but nothing ever comes of it, no fix, no communication, no nothing. I post info, logs, screenshots then nothing. They seem to forget the issue exists or ignore it. I don't think they really know what's going on and their logging is pretty abysmal. RUT used to be good but its gone down the tubes, too many bugs... just for the hell of it I installed the 5.6 host on my domain joined pcs and that seems to work, so I believe the issue resides with the new 6.x host. I am controlling the 5.6 host with the latest viewer (6.3.0.2)

good luck maybe they will take these issues more seriously or hire someone that knows what they are doing. but until then I need to rely on  [censored] .

I'm sure they appreciate your feedback.  They seem to be responsive, although they may not be able to get everything resolved in a timely manner.

To get to the on screen keyboard on Win7, you have to click on the Ease of Access button on the bottom left corner of the login screen.  Then open up the on-screen keyboard (#4 I think).  There, you can run the CAD command.

Yes, it's abit buggy, but I'm sure they know that they won't get much paying subscribers until the bugs are worked out.  They just need us to be patient and continue to offer feedback...

I can get to the on screen keyboard fine but it does not allow CAD from the OSK, at least not on my PC's... domain joined win7 x64 using NT authentication or RUT security, doesn't matter. it just doesn't work.

yes they seem responsive at first and willing to help resolve the issues but none of my issues have ever been addressed or resolved... issues I've posted and created tickets for dating back to early 2014.

It used to be great software, this 6.x is unusable, I keep coming back hoping they got their act together only to be disappointed time and time again... if I didn't have  [censored] installed I would be screwed.

thanks for your reply.

Hello,

We do appreciate your feedback. However, not each and every situation can be easily reproduced in our testing laboratory, simply because there are countless combinations of OSes, hardware profiles, settings, environments etc. Therefore we rely on our customers to provide feedback and extensive information about what's going on. Sometimes we even ask for remote access to the Viewer PC at least to be able to log in and see what's happening with our own eyes.

That been said, we are currently working on this CAD issue and preparing a separate Host executable with extended logging capabilities just for the purpose of troubleshooting.

Michael, we will appreciate it if you let us know what other issues except CAD you are currently having with version 6.x.

Thank you!

the issue regarding logging in after waking from LAN still exists, as does the CAD issue.
at this time its no longer installed on my systems so I cannot provide additional info (I have already provided everything you requested via forum post or support tickets)

I no longer use RUT due to these problems. if I ever see a specific fix in your release notes that address these 2 issues, then I may test it again.

but until that time I will stick to my current solution for Remote access. I need something that works.

Hello Michael,

the issue regarding logging in after waking from LAN still exists

We thought this issue has been resolved as per this thread https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/forums/forum1/449-version-6.1.03

as does the CAD issue.

See my post below.

2 IT Support

I'm sending a link to download special Host executables (rutserv.exe and rfusclient.exe) to you via your open ticket now. These executables have special logging enabled that will help us diagnose issues with CAD. You will only need to replace the original Host executables in your Host installation folder and then send the txt logs back to us (you can examine the logs before sending to us, of course).

Michael, let me know if you also want to participate in diagnosing this issue and I'll send the link to you as well. I'm not making the link public because it's for testing purposes only.

Thanks.
