Hey guys

I'm using the last version of Remote Utilities and since it's not possible to hide the tray icon anymore i would like to set the traycon to NOT change color from blue to red when someone is remote connected (view or full controle mode).. in older versions this could be done (while customizing a msi file) but i wasn't able to find the option on the last version... can you guys help?

Hello Guilherme,

Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, setting the Host icon to not changing color is not possible due to security reasons - the color of the Host icon helps users to identify if the Host is available for the connection or if there's any Viewer connected to it at the moment. The program and its connection status should be clearly identifiable by the user (and security staff/admins if any) as provided in this guide on Host icon colors. Sorry if this makes the program less useful for you.

Please let us know if you have other questions.

Is it possible to disable the pop up message " Your computer has been connected in a remote session.   If you  did not authorise this session, visit remote utilities.com/info"

In the settings under Interface " Show remote connection alert for paid licences" is not ticked.

This message covers all the tray gadgets making it almost impossible to view or use them during a remote session.   I don't remember having this issue when I first started using Remote Utilities so maybe this issue appeared with a recent update.

(I use Remote Utilities to access my 2 home PCs when I am away)

Thank you
Graham Wilson

Hello Graham,

Thank you for your message.

The persistent notification banner is displayed when you connect to a remote Host using Viewer registered with a free license key or in trial mode and use Internet-ID connection.
Currently the message can only be removed when connecting to a remote Host via Direct connection or fr om a Viewer registered with any commercial license.
In addition, please note that the notification banner can be clicked through even if it's displayed.

However, we plan to implement an improvement that will allow users to hide this notification banner on the Viewer's side (i.e. so that the banner is only visible on the Host's side, but not on the Viewer's side). We hope to make this available in one of our next updates, however, we're still investigating this option, so there's no specific ETA on it yet.
In addition, it will be possible to change the corner wh ere the notification banner is displayed - this feature will be available in one of the next updates as well.

Hope that helps.
