Hi,
it has already asked several times for a server version for a NAS (Qnap / Synology). But it would be nice if there basically for Windows version of the server also would be a Linux version.
Is that possible? If so, when it can be expected?
Regards from germany,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
I'm sorry but no plans for a Linux server version so far.
Don't hesitate to ask me if you have other questions.

I'm second for RU Server Linux static binary.
C'mon, we're living in 21th century. All and only 24/7 working hardware in SOHO nets are Linux ones: router, NAS or x86/x64 SAMBA file/print servers, etc.
Make Linux static binary of RU server already. Integrate WOL abilities in it.
Yes, you'll need to compile it for x86 and x64, both big and little endian arms and mips.
But it will be fantastic.
So think about of rethinking your plans.

I am moving our business systems from Windows to Linux. We love RU and hope you put a Linux Server on your near term development list.
If you can provide us the C++ source, we would be glad to port it our self and give the project back to offer to others!
Thanks for listening!

Hi Douglas,
An RU Server for Linux is certainly on our wish list. Perhaps, even with limited functionality at first, like for example with relay capabilities only.
As for your offer, thank you very much. I'm not sure though it is possible because the source code is proprietary and not to be published or otherwise distributed. But thank you anyway!

Hi Conrad,
Right now we have UVNC base remote access system with very tiny linux server.
Its works great but I love to move to this remote access software. I don't like windows server need heavy hardware and lot to take care. Our present system has 99% uptime with no problem but i like more features. Once linux base server is available i will love to move whole system.
Waiting for it>>>>>>>>>>>
Thanks alot
Bob

Hi Conrad,
I also think that an RU Server version for Linux is very useful, at least for enterprise environments. Most companies I've worked for moved or are moving their systems to Linux. Most of my actual work is also based on Linux systems.

I would also like a host for Linux server. Please consider..

I also suggest reconsidering plans for a Linux server, as maintaining a Linux server on the internet is much simpler and cost effective than a Windows server.
