Microsoft Defender SmartScreen

The same story is with version 7.9.0.0 - what would you suggest?
Hello Michael,

Yes, it's the same story with every new release: SmartScreen blocks files it hasn't seen enough of yet, no matter how they are signed, and the block clears as the file builds up downloads and reports.

What you can do:
  • Report the file as safe, as described in the first post of this topic: in Edge, open the Downloads list, click "..." on the blocked file and choose "Report this file as safe". The more reports Microsoft gets from its users, the sooner it clears.
  • Try the .msi instead of the .exe, or the other way round. They are separate files with separate reputations, so one is often accepted while the other is blocked.
  • If Defender itself quarantines a file after installation, restore it and add the Remote Utilities folders to the exclusions, as described here.
We submit these reports to Microsoft too.

Hope that helps.
