Interesting. I definitely did not experience this in 6.10.

I have noticed a change in the mouse behavior between 6.x and 7.x that has me concerned enough to consider it a possible bug. I am running Viewer 7.0.0.1 and Installed Host 7.0.0.1 with Windows 10 on both ends.
The issue is when the RU viewer is NOT the active window and you return to it and click somewhere on the remote computer's screen, the CLICK is registered, but the new position of the mouse is NOT registered, causing the click to happen wherever the mouse was last used on the screen. This can be problematic as you may click on something that you did not intend to click on.
I believe intended behavior (and prior behavior in 6.x) would be to update the mouse position on the remote screen BEFORE sending the click command to ensure proper mouse cursor location for the click.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect to a remote session.
2. Confirm that mouse clicks are operating as intended within the viewer to the remote screen.
3. Move the mouse out of the RU viewer making sure that where your mouse leaves the screen, it is on an icon that you can identify. In my tests, I had the desktop showing and moved my mouse off the screen to the left so that the "Recycle Bin" was the last thing it was on.
4. Click a window other than the RU viewer to make it inactive.
5. Return to the RU viewer remote session and RIGHT click on an empty area of the desktop. You SHOULD get the right click menu options at the point where you clicked. Where the menu actually pops up will be where your mouse left the screen (recycle bin icon in my case).
I created this video to illustrate:

Let me know if I can answer any questions or provide clarification. Would love to see this fixed in the upcoming 7.0.0.2 patch!
Thanks for all that you do!

Thanks, Polina! Yes, the File Transfer was the primary issue I noticed upon updating and I overlooked it in the release notes! My apologies!
Good tip on the backups! I did not think of that. Thanks so much!!!

A follow up question... I installed the new Viewer Beta and quickly experienced a backward compatibility issue that necessitated me to have to uninstall the viewer and reinstall the GA version.
My address books survived just fine, but apparently all of my stored passwords were lost. Any way to recover them? Is this expected behavior?

Good morning, all! I took the plunge and upgraded my Viewer to the beta version, but had some questions about backward compatibility expectations. (Forgive me if this has already been specifically addressed). I know that the preferred environment and testing would be with both the host and viewer being on the same beta version, BUT what are the expectations of backwards compatibility between the beta viewer and the GA 6.10.10.0 host?
More specifically, do you WANT to get reports of issues regarding backward compatibility?
Thanks!!!

Ricky, a recent update to the Android app (version 11.30) has the app working on my Android 11 based Pixel 4a. You may want to give it a shot!

Polina, I just updated to the 11.30 Android app and can confirm it is functioning normally in Android 11. Send my thanks to the developers!

Thanks for the confirmation, Brandon!
Polina, many thanks to you and the devs for taking a look! Luckily, I only rarely have the need to use the mobile app so little to no inconvenience for me!
I'm happy to install a beta version to test out a fix once the devs think they have it corrected! Just let me know!

Thanks, Polina! Let me know if there's any further info you need from my side:
Here are more details on the device:
Android Version: 11
Android security update: September 5, 2020
Google Play system update: September 1, 2020
Baseband version: g7150-00018-200701-B-6643937
Kernel version: 4.14.170-g501c771385ff-ab6716795 #1 Tue Jul 28 22:05:21 UTC 2020
Build number: RP1A.200720.011
As I mentioned, this is a Google Pixel 4a. The phone is less than a month old. Admittedly, I did not try the RU app prior to allowing the phone to update from Android 10 so I cannot say if it's something specific to the hardware or the Android version.
Happy to perform any experiments that you would like!
