Blank screen on host

So, I want to access my home computer from work; when I'm updating financial software I don't want kids at home to see what I'm doing; I select the option to blank the "host" screen, but what I then see on my computer at work is a blank dark screen with the words "this computer is being remote-controlled". That's what I want them to see at home - but obviously I want to see the normal desktop.
What am I doing wrong? Why am I seeing the blank screen and not seeing the desktop?

It seems like you have Windows 8 on the remote Host. Due to some "peculiarities" of the screen capture process on that operating system, the blank screen feature does not work properly for now on Windows 8. We have scheduled fixing this in the next minor release (version 5.7).
Thanks!

This must be my issue as well. We're planning a large-scale launch of unattended public-facing kiosks running Windows 8.1, so being able to blank the remote screen while doing maintenance activities is critical. Was hoping to use RU. Can you give an ETA for Ver 5.7 with the fix? Thanks, -Jeff

We are planning to release version 5.7 this spring, most likely in May.
