I created a 1 click installer (private server, no IP v6). Worked fine on Windows 7 Pro, Windows Server 2003 (logged in as an administrator) it installed, never got an Internet ID, had to remove, restart then re-install as "right click run as administrator" even though i was logged in as an administrator, after a restart it for the internet ID.
Server 2008 R2, installed as logged in administrator, got the icon, no internet ID, removed, restarted, re-installed as "right click run as administrator" still no internet ID after a restart, its the same EXE file that worked in Windows 7 Pro and the Server 2003, all in the same domain.
I can resolve the private server DNS name, theirs no antivirus installed on these servers, the local firewalls are off.... so...... how do i debug this, been working on getting this installed the past 4 hours.
Think i found the problem, when IPv6 is enabled it connects then disconnects in cycles. I replicated this with a WORKING connection i have (when IPv6 isnt ticked, works fine, when its ticked it does the connected, not connected thing over and over)..
I thought the IPv6 was an "option", so it would use it IF it can, well as all the connectons are over the internet it needs to be IPv4, when i turn off IPv6, the connection works...
ON the host there is a tiny popup bug and a request.
ID: has the details on the line below it (this is a created MSI installer). Are we able to have the server its connecting it? we use a private server, and would like confirmation of the server and the status of the connection (unless its done via the icon inthe tray such as the color).
This still isnt working, with all the settings, i still need to remove from the address book then re-add the connection.... i have just had to do it again, i need to do 2 more servers and i bet i get the same issue...
The server address book does the "auto import" puts new connections in a group (which works).
General > Default connections name is (((GRIFFCOMM Connection > Internet-ID connection ID: [blank] Connection > Internet-ID server : [has my DNS name and its correct with the correct port] Network > Hosts port : 5650 Network > Use IP v6 (tick) Network > Proxy Settings (no tick) Security > all blank
Out of the above, the only thing i could see being an issue is the Default connections name (it has "(((")
There is no default password, however as i said when i change the password on the already added address book entry it doesn't fix the issue, only deleting and re-adding. Could this be a connection name issue?
We have just changed the NAME to "NEW-" instead, i wont know until later this week when i try to add another server to find out if this fixes the issue or not....

Ive seen this issue before and reported it, but couldnt fully verify, now i have.
HOST installed (Windows 7 Pro, Microsoft Security Essentials), everything is installed ok, it pushses to a private server. It auto adds to an address book (so i dont need to ask for the Internet ID), even when i add the PASSWORD under security i cant connect to the host, its online then offline, online, offline.....
If i delete this from the address book and re-add it via the add connection and internet ID looking at the same private server with the correct password, it then works as it should.
It only seems to happen with new installs that auto add to the address book... when its removed then re-added the problem isnt there. Any ideas? (i assume your want more config data from the private server and the address book setup).....
