Whenever i'm trying to connect with remote pc's with older versions of the host i'm having difficulties.
I can see them online on the viewer , but when i click connect they go offline...
I'm also trying to update the host remotely, but this also fails with both authentication methods.

I'm having problems with the host file.
I downloaded the latest version here (exe file):
https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/
When i try to install it i get an error message "not a valid windows installer file".
I also tried downloading the msi file, but i'm unable to download (i get a fail error).

It's similar to that:
If i press show program details it mentions the rutserv.exe file.
Next time i see it i'll grab a photo. It doesn't happen very often.

I'm getting the following pop up/window in windows 7 pro:
a program is trying to display a message-> ask me later/view the message (rutserv.exe)
If i press view the message i see a login window with my remote utilities id. If i press return to windows the login dissapears.
Is this normal? Is it a matter regarding user policy/rights... or is it maybe a security issue on my pc?

It's an excellent program, packed with so many features very useful to IT professionals. Remote installs, msi files for AD deployment, file transfer,chat... the list is endless!
I tried many other programs, because i needed something free for a small business (2-3 licenses only) and didn't have the budget for buying. Only RU had the features and functionality i needed.
I also agree with Jeremy, that the speed needs to be improved, but i have the impression that the last two updates have done something about that.

Thanks! One more question.Conrad Sallian wrote:
Hello,
Yes, of course. You can do that in multiple ways:
- Enable the Ask user permission feature in the Host security settings
- On the General tab in the Host options, you can enable the Notification panel and also select other options - change tray icon view, show balloon hint and play a sound.
Just select an option/options that work for you.
I'm trying to connect to the remote pc to apply the setting you proposed.
Admin rights are needed for that purpose. I tried running the host as admin but it didn't work.
Is there a way to run the host as admin without having to switch user?

Is there a way to inform the remote user that i'm logging in his system?
