Merry Xmass Conrad. 1st, I dont have RU log in C:\Program Files\Remote Utilities - Host\Logs as indicated, it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\Logs
so is there any possible issue of setting up the right version on this machine?
Now, I opened the most recent log file (I can share it with you), I found mainly error 96, Internet-ID: Unable to connect to ID server. Address: server.rutils.com; Port: 563; Connect timed out.(EIdConnectTimeout)
I did, from the VM and the HYper-V host a telnet server.rutils.com 563 and it works fine with absolutly no problem of connections.
As I said earlier, this proves that it has nothing to do with my network or firewall, I am more than sure that it is related to Win 2K12 R2 and RU incompatibilite or missing config somewhere
I checked everything from Firewall perspective, I have absolutly no active firewall in the chain,as I saidm if there was any issue with my routerm then the other VMs would have never been able to communicate ober 5655 and 5665.
By the way, isn²t ther any log somewhere that can give a hint why it is not able to connect that comes with the host application?
Ok, I found that firewall on the hyper-V was enabled, I disabled it completely, rebooted the VM and rebooted the host to be sure, always getting the grey circle. Regarding my router firewall as it allows access to other VMs, I am more than sure that nothing is hindering packets to gop in:out otherwise I would not be able to connect to the other 4 win2K8 VMs
Conrad, I am not sure what is needed to be done as I have no active firwall, it is disabled on all levels. In the KB it is indicated to open specific ports, so as far as win firewal is disabled, what should i do? Thanks
Conrad, I have just went and did a new experience, I have 2 VMs one is Win2K8 R2, the 2nd is win2K12. Both of them are on HYper-V and both are on same lan. I ran a RU on both, the win2k8 R2 worked fine right away and I was able to connect to it remotely, the 2nd box with win 2K12 behave just like the other one, the small circle is greyed out and cnanot connect to internet. Again, I confirm that Firewalls are disabled on all machines
I have RU connectiing to win 8.1 and win 2008 like a charm but it is not working with Windows 2012, of course I have the latest version Always offline in internet id mode. is RU free version for 10 is compatible with Windows 2012
I browsed some threads her, I did a "ping server.rutils.com", response seems OK as follows
Pinging server.rutils.com [18.104.22.168] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 22.214.171.124: bytes=32 time=156ms TTL=114 Reply from 126.96.36.199: bytes=32 time=156ms TTL=114 Reply from 188.8.131.52: bytes=32 time=165ms TTL=114 Reply from 184.108.40.206: bytes=32 time=155ms TTL=114

Thanks Conrad, I have already followed instructions in this Kb, even I turned off windows 2012 firewall but still the circle is grey and getting the 96 error code in the log. I even stopped the windows firewall service in the services panel but it did not help.
