Hi,

If you are referring to version 5.7.0.1m11.1.0 (11.1 in Google Play, updated on Sep 28, 2014), this version is not working either.

Not only that, but if I long-press on text in the "Enter ID or IP address" field (in order to highlight/select it for copy or cut), the Remote Utilities app crashes.

What happens when I try to connect:

After I've entered an Internet ID directly so and (unsuccessfully) tapped the Connect button at least once, the Internet ID I entered appears in a dropdown list that pops up when the [...] (ellipsis) button is tapped.

There is an info icon (i) next to my entered Internet ID in this list, and if I tap on THAT I get an entry screen that shows the "Host" field empty.

Going further, I pasted the Internet ID into the "Host" field and hit close.

Then I returned to the opening screen and tapped the ellipsis button (next to the "Enter ID or IP address" field) which dropped down the list, and then I tapped on my Internet ID, which causes it to populate the "Enter ID or IP address" field.

Then I tapped on "Connect", which briefly changes to "Connecting..." and then changes right back to "Connect" within a couple of seconds. Nothing else happens.

Has anyone ever actually seen this work on an Android?

Thank you for your message.

We are already know about this issue. It will be fixed in one of the next updates.

Could you please give us more information about your mobile device? Because we can't reproduce this behavior.

Can you connect to that ID fr om a desktop Viewer?

Looking forward to your reply.

In answer to your questions:

I have two mobile devices, neither of which is able to connect to any host I have tried (all hosts of which I can freely connect to from a desktop Viewer from any machine on which I've tried it).

My primary Android device, and the one I am most interested in using with this app, is a Google Nexus 7 (2013 version), running Android 4.4.4.

My other android device is a Motorola RAZR M (that's "M", not Maxx or Mini), running Android 4.4.2. Here the behavior is almost identical: when I tap "Connect" the button changes to "Connecting..." then almost immediately changes back and up pops a little window that says "Unable to connect." (with an OK button).

Just for clarity, I should be able to type (tap) or paste in an Internet ID in the same form that works for the desktop Viewer, right?  And after I've tried to connect and this Internet ID appears in the dropdown, when I hit the (i)nfo button the same Internet ID should come up in the "Host" field without any further action on my part?

David,

Could you please send me the screenshot with the main app window with your Internet-ID typed in it?

Yes, that is what should happen. And that is what I personally get on my Nexus 7 (2012 3g) running Android 4.4.4.
