I am having trouble updating Host from version 7.1.6 to 7.6.2, and when I uninstalled and then reinstalled, I encountered a fatal error: rfusclient.exe is corrupted.
The steps I have already taken are:
- Updated to KB5037768.
- Excluded the following paths from my antivirus software: C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\rutserv.exe and C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\rfusclient.exe.
- Performed a clean uninstall (deleted the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Usoris) and then attempted to install RU Host version 7.6.2, but the fatal error still occurred.
However, when I revert to installing version 7.1.6, I do not encounter the error.
host version 7.6.2.msi that I use I downloaded from the official web and tested it installed on another machine and it works fine.
Do I need to perform any further updates or steps?
P.S. This PC is designated for my system testing. Please advise.

Hello Sacnager,
Thank you for your message.
Could you please try adding the entire C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\ folder to the exception list as described here and perform a clean installation once again.
Let us know if this helps with resolving the issue.
