Beta testing: Remote Utilities for macOS/Linux
Support level: Free or trial
I'm running Zorin and audio capture is not working in Remote Utilities. No sound comes through at all.
The steps I'm taking are:
1) Connect from a Windows 11 machine running Remote Utilities Viewer 7.7.3.0 to my Zorin desktop running Remote Utilities Host 1.0.23.q via Full Control
2) Once connected, go to Connection Properties -> check off Capture Sound -> click Apply
3) Raise the volume under Capture Sound to maximum -> click Apply
4) Play a wav file in the remote session and hear no audio
5) Watch a Youtube video in the remote session and hear no audio
6) Stop the host on the Zorin machine and start it again, repeat steps 1-5, no change
7) Reboot the Zorin machine and start the host, repeat steps 1-5, no change

Hi M P,
Since Bazzite uses an immutable (rpm-ostree) system, installing the Host via RPM can cause version conflicts.
Please try installing the Host from the binary archive instead:
1. Download the archive:
https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/host1.0.23.b23.tar.xz
2. Extract it and run the installer as root:Let us know if you run into any issues.
tar -xf host1.0.23.b23.tar.xz
cd host1.0.23.b23
sudo ./host -install
M@bazzite:/var/home/M/Downloads$ tar -xf host1.0.23.b23.tar.xzThe contents of host1.0.23.b23.tar.xz is just an executable named r-host. If I try to run it as if I've cded into the folder specified, it fails:
M@bazzite:/var/home/M/Downloads$ cd host1.0.23.b23
bash: cd: host1.0.23.b23: No such file or directory
M@bazzite:/var/home/M/Downloads$ sudo ./r-host -install
[sudo] password for M:
Error copying executable: filesystem error: cannot copy file: Read-only file system [/var/home/M/Downloads/r-host] [/usr/bin/r-host]
Failed to install daemon.

I just attempted to install the Linux host beta in Bazzite Linux and ran into an error:
M@bazzite:/var/home/M/Downloads$ sudo rpm-ostree install host1.0.23.b23_x86_64.rpmAnyone know if there's a way I can fix this and move forward?

I just installed RU Host on a Linux Mint machine. Two hopefully quick questions:
1) There's no option to configure 2FA - is that feature Windows-only at present?
2) Whenever I move the mouse, type, or interact with the RU connection to the Mint machine, I get occasional screen tearing/jagging/flickering. I installed the X11 feature that was called out during the RU installation. Do I need to do anything else to stop the flickering?

Sound capture doesn't work in Full Control
Support level: Free or trial
I'm using Remote Utilities host and viewer, both the latest available version from RU. The host is installed and running as a regular Windows service, the viewer is the portable version. I have Audio Capture enabled in a Full Control session back to the host, but I have no audio at all from the host when I'm connected. Capture Sound is checked off in the connection. I get no audio from any browser, application, etc. Even the Windows sound effect when I change volume doesn't sound, nor do regular built-in Windows audio player output.
Audio works fine on the host if I'm in front of it and going through the only audio output on the device. It just doesn't work via Remote Utils.
Restarting the host service or rebooting the machine itself doesn't change anything, nor does disconnecting/reconnecting.
Is there anything I can do to fix or try?

Left-click stops working in long connections, machine reboot required

I added the exclusions, saved them, rebooted the PC in question, and reconnected. Eventually the issue recurred.

Host: Windows 11 24H2, RU ver 7.6.2.0
Viewer: Windows 10 22H2, RU ver 7.6.2.0
I just started using Remote Utilities recently. When I'm connected to my host for a period of maybe 3ish, 4ish hours, I'll lose all left mouse click functionality in the host. The issue persists if I disconnect and reconnect to the host, and it also persists within the host even if I am using a locally connected mouse. I can still use the keyboard without incident.
I have to reboot the machine to return left-click functionality.
Anyone know if there's anything I can fix or try?
