Windows XP viewer does not install 7.7.3 update

Running 7.6.2 on XP. Viewer shows there's an update. Click and the download happens, an unreadable pop-up displays for a half-second or so, and no install.

Could you please let us know if you’ve already tried installing the update manually? You can download the installation package on this page and see if the update works this way.

It won't work for me either. These are the messages I'm getting.

The Procedure Entry Point InitializeCriticalSectionEx could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

The wizard was interrupted before Remote Utilities - Host could be completely installed.
