Host and Agent availability for Linux and Mac
I am unable to say any replacement on this forum due to t&c's but what had attracted me to this was the non-subscription of it. Free updates for minor versions, and free updates if a major update happens within 12 months of purchase. Do search me on LinkedIn though with my namel, might orange background on the picture :D.Allan Hall wrote:
Liam,
You are correct. After years of being told "soon" and "one of our top priorities" I have lost faith. Not only am I looking for a replacement product but I am making sure I let people know how well Remote Utilities delivers on its promises.
If you know of any good replacements, let me know. I have been trying out several over the past few months and hope to make a move in the near future.
Host and Agent availability for Linux and Mac
I believe there might be some people who are truely losing faith as to when the Host product for MacOS and Linux will be released. Especially now that it will be using a more advanced framework which I would believe will require extensive recoding, in turn pushing any possible release date (following the current trend) far into 2023.Pauline wrote:
Hello Fritz and Allan,
Thank you for your messages.
We understand your frustration and apologize for keeping everyone waiting. Unfortunately, the release of Host/Agent for Mac/Linux was delayed and we've previously shared that it's due to the fact that we've decided to use more advanced framework which will make the final product better and more reliable. We appreciate everyone's patience regarding the Mac/Linux release.
Please let us know if you have other questions.
I believe as a company you should provide something of good faith, for example. An Alpha release demo video to show a developer actively testing the host using MacOS and Linux.
Even if this would only be 5 minutes or so long, as long as people can see it is being developed (without exposing any code for copywrite reasons) it will help maintain the faith.

Dave, did you move away from that due to the Big Sur issues with screen recording permissions?Dave Fortin wrote:

Hello Polina, I think the main question for everyone is, why it the release being pushed so much for so long?Polina wrote:
Hello Dave,
Thank you for your message.
We'll do our best to release the Host and Agent modules for Mac/Linux as soon as we can. Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long.
Please let us know if you have other questions.
Host/agent for MacOS/Linux
I understand this has been in development for some time, no ETA for release has been given apart from a possible few months from May 2021.
