This does not answer my question. I want to be able to detect devices and computers that are shared on the host that I'm connecting to. (Without having to sinstall RU host on them)
so I want to connect to one RU host and then be able to see all the available network devices to it, say for instance printers.
I want Windows Explorer on the viewer to be able to see devices that are available to the host. ( [censored] does this by opening a VPN connection)

Is there a means to enable network discovery such that the viewer can see shared computers on the network that the host resides on?

I do have access to network drives that have been mapped on the host network, but not visibility using Explorer on the viewer..

I guess what I might be asking is can I create a VPN between viewer and host, then I can just install the printer driver and I should be good to go.

Looks like all docs have it going the other way..
Printer is a shared network printer on same subnet as host. (and its a shared printer on host win PC)
I tried to install a printer in control panel on viewer machine but it couldnt find it while connected to host??
all Windows 10 machines.
