Hello,
I only use remote utilites to connect to my windows 11 computer. I dont have it on other computers and I dont allow my windows 11 computer to control my windows 10 pc.
I dont use an antivirus, I did add remote utilities to the windows exception list. I added the entire folder then restarted my system. It is still very slow. I have also gone through that other list and did check several of the things on the list before I made my original post.
Remote Utilities is outdated or version mismatch - Checked
Internet connection slow - Both computers have a 500mb internet conection
Direct connection vs. Internet-ID connection - Im not at the same location to do direct
Default Internet-ID server vs. Self-hosted server - I did not try this and Im not sure about it
Nextgen codec vs. Classic codec - I have both versions on 7.6.2.0
Visual effects - I tried this and did notice a small improvement
Low-end or outdated CPU - NA
High CPU load - NA
Screen capture mode - This helped some too
Between the 3 things that I tried all of them had an impact and it is much better now.
Adding the remote utilities folder to the windows exception
Visual effects - I tried this and did notice a small improvement
Screen capture mode - This helped some too
Thank you, This has been solved. I'm not sure what one worked or if it was all 3.

Hello,
Im using viewer version 7.6.20. on my computer and host version 7.6.2.0. I constantly have to wait on the connection when connected to my remote PC. I have fast internet on both computers(500 down and 25 up), and if I use [censored] the connection is very fast. I have used remote utilities for years and this was never an issue until about 2-3 months ago. If I have to open several different PDF files on my remote PC its better for me to use [censored] because to open and close takes 2-3 seconds per file to show it open and then 2-3 seconds to see the file close. The remote PC is a new Lenovo windows 11 pc and mine is windows 10 but the computer is still fast. I don't have a slowdown anywhere else other than when connecting to my remote computer.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

Yes that helps. I understand the setup process and I have installed both viewer and host on both computers. Is there a way that I can have 1 account for both vewers so I can have saved computers without having to add them more than once?

So are you saying I need both host and viewer on my home PC and both programs on my laptop in order to use one to remote the other?
Or are you saying I only need viewer on both and not to install host on either?

Im wanting to have the ability to access my home pc from my laptop and access my laptop from my home pc. I currently have the Viewer on the home pc and the host on the laptop which allows me to access the laptop from the home pc. To access the home pc from the laptop do I need to have host and viewer on both computers or can i do it with the viewer on both computers? How does this work if I want to throw a 3rd computer in the mix as well like the PC at my mom's house which i would only need a host on I guess since I wouldn't need to access my PC's from her house but if i did want to access my pc how would this work.
Thank you for any help
