We will kill the wallpaper. I found the setting and the "Make default for new connections" Some of these I just expected to the default and finding where they all are.
The screensaver, I just ran into a problem of it freezing up the program, slowing/stopping the connection, especially when the memory is lower, it runs the memory completely out and can take several minutes for the screen to come up again.
Thanks for the notes.
Again, great program, just trying to get some things to work a little more intuitively.

3. I just used the wrong word rutserv is the portable host, not the viewer. I change the wording. The portable version is for ease of use by the user. Our first contact program. If we need to add/upgrade to the server, we can push (remote install) the full server program to their computer and Hopefully, it use the same id/password if possible.

4.The ru.host does provide the user with an id during the install, but afterwards it is only in the systray and is difficult to direct the user to provide the netid. I just wanted a desktop icon that would display the netid since we don't save all the connections. You can hover over the icon and get the id, but by default the icon is hidden in the arrow and has proved difficult to get the user/customer to find the icon and provide me with the netid.

Glad you clarified that. I kept trying it and nothing..nice to know it work on network only. If you have to explain it then it needs a popup or note on the action with that detail.

Remote install with the same ID

I searched first, I attempted creating custom msi files with different options with no success.

The Scenereo is the customer runs/installs the rutserv and I remote install the rut.host file and keep the same network ID. When the remote install is complete (regardless of the options I selected with the custom msi) a new ID is created and I am disconnected and have to request the customer finds the new id and give reads it to me (or is emailed).
Can I not do this seamlessly where I can remote install the rut.host file and it keeps the same ID?

I've done some testing with this program and I do like it, but having used several other remote utilities, there are a few features we would like to see.

  • 1 On Reboot/reboot in safe mode, reconnect
  • 2 When rebooting shut the viewer off then reboot. Currently the viewer gives and error message like it didn't know
  • 3 When upgrading from portable host(rutserv) to the full version (rut.host) by default keep the same id and password and save it.
  • 4 when upgrading/installing to the rut.host create a desktop host that the host can easily access the id/password at later dates. Try explaining to the host user how to get to display the ID and it is a long string of alpha-numeric string.
  • 5 Disable wallpaper

Thank you. Most remote repair we do, we restart the computer at least 2 times. This is a very important feature.
I have worked out that the host program will let you know that the computer is started, but the program will not log the computer back in by itself. For Now I will have to get the computer's password and use the auto-logon utility I have.

Yes. I've tried it with the remove server and the full install server. Neither reconnected on restart.

I haven't read  if this is possible or not. I did use the restart feature (also has restart in safe mode) but with i was not able to reconnect without the host logging in again. I did not find any thing in the forum search either.
