Remote Utilities slowing down the host machine

Support level: Free or trial
Hello,

I have Remote Utilities installed on a bunch of machines, and I really love it. Unfortunately, a problem has just come to my attention. Two of these machines, one is Windows 8 and one is Windows XP (I know, I know), have been causing problems for the users because of system slowdowns over the recent days and weeks.

On the Windows 8 machine, I found that Task Manager showed Remote Utilities host using 25% of the CPU, even when no one was connected. I stopped the host and the speed problems appeared to resolve.

I just tried stopping the host on the XP machine where the user was complaining of slow performance, and that seems to be resolved too.

On both machines I do have ESET Endpoint Security installed, and when Remote Utilities host was running ESET also seemed to be using up a fair amount of CPU as well. So it's possible that there is some interference there? But a Google search as well as an ESET forum search for Remote Utilities produces nothing, so I thought I would ask here in hopes that someone has some ideas for me.

Thanks in advance.
