Remote printer driver will not install

I am running Remote Utilities Host version 7.6.2.0 on a machine using Windows 10 Home, version 22H2. I have used Remote Utilities for years without issues. Suddenly, the Remote Print function will not work. I have installed the latest version of the program. When I try to install the printer driver, the loading indicator (the spinning circle) just spins - for hours if left alone. The drivers never install, and the "cancel," "okay," and "X" buttons do not work. The only way to get out of the installation window is to use Task Manager to end the program. Also, once the installation has been initiated, any attempt to use the local printer locks up the computer.
I have tried uninstalling the program through the System Settings=>Apps program, but the system never shows the uninstall completing and, again, Task Master must be used to get out of the process. After rebooting, the program is gone from the program list, but the folders and files remain. Reinstalling the program at that point also just "spins," until Task Master is used to end the process. Again, after a reboot, the program "works" in that I can access the host computer, but the remote printer will not work.
It appears that some file(s) are locking up the program, and I have no idea how to fix or get rid of them.
I use the Remote Print function extensively. Has anyone had a similar experience and/or know how to fix it?
