[Resolved] Host user can close active connections even after setting is disabled
Support level: Free or trial
Hi both,
Thank you for your prompt replies!
Pauline: Yes, I am referring to the close icon 'x'. I believe that I was on 7.6.2.0 before the update to 7.7.3.0. I know that is wasn't possible before as previously only a white banner on the bottom right (see image)
Conrad: I am using the licence where I can connect up to 10 stations, so free licence I assume? Reading the documentation tells me that this panel is always visible on free versions. Which I don't mind at all, but before it just told you there was an active connection without letting you close it.

Hello,
Prior to the update I never had this issue, but after updating both the host and viewer, the host user can now terminate connections when in my setup, they should not be able to.
Even after I've gone through the host settings (image below), applying them and then restarting host etc the 'x' button to terminate the connection is still visible.
Sometimes after a while, the yellow connection message/banner goes blank but then if you reconnect the options to terminate the connection reappear.
Hoping to shed some light on this.
(not sure why snipping tool inverted colours in the snips)

Send any combination of shortcuts without starting remote session

Hello,
I really like Remote Utilities it works great for my use.
However, I'd love to see the ability to send keyboard shortcut commands to a remote computer without connecting in a full remote session for efficiency. I noticed that there is already a 'Send key' option in the Menu when in 'Full control' or 'View only' but this is limited to a handful of shortcuts.
What I'm envisioning is an option in the 'double-click' action menu. For example being able to send something anything like (but not limited to):
- start+L = to lock the computer.
- ctrl+W(5) = to close an active tab, but repeat this shortcut 5 times
or even start+I to open settings.
I think that this would save time hopefully for other users not just me.
I've created a mock-up in the images attached.
This is my first post so hopefully I haven't broken any rules. Thanks for your time.
