RU Server Migration – Users and Groups for Authentication
Support level: Pro
Hello,
I am currently in the process of migrating my RU server to a different Windows installation, but I do not understand how to cleanly transfer the users and groups so that the custom authentication continues to work.
I would like to migrate my groups and technician users while ensuring the passwords remain exactly the same.
I have enabled "Custom Authentication" on my clients' hosts and now need to migrate the users and groups to my new RU installation without encountering "Authentication Error" messages. I am not sure if certificate issues might be the cause.
The server address for the clients isn't actually changing, as the domain and port remain the same; only the backend server on my end is changing. The incoming port is simply being forwarded to the new server.
How can I cleanly migrate the existing groups and technician users so that authentication works properly with the new RU server installation?
I have the Pro license.
This is urgent.
Many thanks!
Best regards,
Leon
