Show custom name
Currently it only shows that someone would like access.
Set default Authentication method
Yes I know but that's what I want to simplify by just setting a default authentication method for internet id once and then never have to worry about adding the PC, changing the properties, etc. It would just be a double click and just like that you're connected.Conrad Sallian wrote:
If you have multilpe auth methods enabled on the Host, but still want to use Single password for some connections, you should explicitly select this method in the dropdown menu in connection properties.
Why can't we just set a default authentication method?
For IP and Hostnames it should default to windows security and when we try to connect to a Internet ID it should pick single password.
Show custom name
The remote user can see the IP address or hostname of the connected user
Can you maybe add a text field in settings where you can set a custom display name?
The ip or hostname can still be showed. I know that you have to follow a lot of security checks for Antiviruses.
I imagine something like:
YourName (123.456.789)
Custom Name (PC123)
MSI Setup Parameter
Set default Authentication method
But checking all methods takes quite some time and if I remember correctly there always appears a window to enter the windows domain, username and password and it doesn't even get to single password. And therefore we're faster changing it manually.I.e. once the Viewer determines that the authentication method being checked is available, it uses it. That means that if you have multiple auth methods enabled, the ones that are higher in the list are used first.
This is definetly needed for our use case 👍That indeed makes a good suggestion for inclusion in our wish list. The ability to choose a default authentication method depending on the connection type used, that is.
MSI Setup Parameter
it would be really cool if there was a msi parameter that deletes the settings before silently installing itself.
Something like RUT.7.2.2.0.msi /deletesettings /q which deletes these things and then installs itself normally:
reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Remote Utilities" /f
reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Usoris\Remote Utilities Host" /f
rmdir "C:\Program Files\Remote Utilities - Host\" /s /q
rmdir "C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\" /s /q

Set default Authentication method
so we have a Host MSI configured both with a fixed password and the windows security.
When people are outside our company then of course the domain controller isn't reachable.
When the auth. method is set to automatic RUT still tries and tries to use the windows security. It won't or at least very delayed switch to the single password.
Why can't we just set a default authentication method?
For IP and Hostnames it should default to windows security and when we try to connect to a Internet ID it should pick single password.
Currently we have to add the Internet ID to the address book and then right click and set it to single password every time.
New Pro Alert
Yes please. Like show your ID card or do something with certificates or whateverBrad M wrote:
I have run into the same thing. Is is possible to tie the license to an account that is established and we have verified our identity to hide that message. You could charge a nominal fee to verify the account, and show the license wasn't charged to c/c fraud.
New Pro Alert
New Pro Alert
I know and can confirm that it doesn't affect the automatic deployment. Please note that this feature does not prevent the automatic deployment of RUT, nor does it inhibit connectivity, even with the Starter and Mini licenses.
Let me rephrase myself:
Our company policy says that unless we get rid of the alert we aren't allowed to automatically deploy Remote Utilities. This is why we bought the PRO license. But right after that you changed it and added the new 10 minute alert.
Because of the new alert we still aren't allowed to deploy it to all users.
