Hi Mark,
Yes, File Transfer mode won't work if you are connecting from v7 to v6. Version 6 is still avialable for download though. You can find it here.
Sorry for the inconvenience with File Transfer. Unfortuantely, in order to fix some issues with this connection mode (namely, slow folder browsing) we had to re-write it from scratch in version 7. Hence incompatibility.

Hello Søren,
Thank you for your message.
We understand everyone's frustration but that was necessary. The Online option now only works with the paid version.
Also, I recommend that you always use the latest version available. As of this writing (Jan 3, 2022) it's version 7.1.1.0.
Thanks.
Thank you for your message.
The Online configurator will not work for free license users. This is a preventive measure to reduce the abuse of the program (namely, the digital signature since the output file returned by our server is digitally signed) by malware builders. When I write not working it means that the MSI configurator is not working, to be more specific the online configuration is greyed out!

Hello,
Please, make sure that you specified your RU Server address and port in Agent Internet-ID settings. Perhaps, your Agent still points at our default server instead of pointing at your RU Server.
Hope that helps.

Hello Dateno,
Thank you for your message.
The "Online" option of the MSI Configurator doesn't work with free and trial license. It requires a paid license.

The message is not removed for my reverse (but still direct) connection, even though I am on 7.1.1.0. Doesn't bother me much AND I rather think that reverse connections should display the message (they are as easily exploitable as the Internet-ID-based connections), but it's clearly not true that "We have removed the notification for direct connections" - not for *all* direct connections you didn't.
Strictly speaking, yes, a callback connection is also a direct connection. Yet, ever since Internet-ID was introduced the callback connectivity is very rarely used so when we say 'direct connection' we mean Viewer-to-Host direct connection only.
Thanks.

Hello David,
1. It has a far fewer area than T.V.'s nagging "Buy me" windows that you can observe in their "free-for-personal-use-only" version.
2. It is opaque enough to be discernible by most of the remote users who need to be warned about a remote connection to their computer.
3. The message doesn't interfere with other apps and windows, it can be "clicked through".
Besides, the message is only visible if the connected Viewer is registered with a free license or is in the trial mode. We had to introduce this change - it was just too easy to abuse it with the "out-of-the-box" version, at no cost.
We understand your frustration. Perhaps, RU Free is not good enough for you. We kindly ask you not to discuss competitor programs on our forum - see our forum rules, p.4.

Hi Matthew,
Yes, server 3.2.0.0 was a fix for the reported issue so it should work. Anyway, don't hesitate to send us a message if there are still any issues.
Thanks.

Hi Trent,
To isolate the issue, could you try to run Viewer in another network (i.e. connect to the Internet via another ISP) and try to connect in to one of your Hosts that show offile.
For example, you can use our mobile Viewer for iOS/Android and use your mobile network to access the Internet.
This will show us whether the issue is on the Viewer side.

I understand this for access via 'Internet ID', but for LAN access within my home it would be nice to have it be optional.
We have removed the notification for direct connections. You should update your version (Viewer and Host) to 7.1.1.0, now available for download.
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
If legit users will be able to move it, so will the bad guys . The banner/message is transparent and can be clicked through, i.e. it doesn't affect the ability to select menus, click buttons etc.
Much like the same as Windows warning about activation.
