i am remoted into a machine, using agent.
trying to install the host.
1. i created a host .msi file
2. used remote install
3. getting this error

i had a machine that the host stopped working on.
i tried to run the end user run agent on the machine, so i could try and fix the the host.
but that is not allowed.
so i have to use  [censored] to get into that machine and fix host.

really, not a ideal solution.

please allow agent to run at the same time has the host.

if you know of any scripts that get the session id and what needs to be feed to the rdp client, i would like to see that.

for RU, i was having an issue with it overwriting values in the .rdp file, as documented so i wrote a script to work around that.

this is a snippet of a support ticked i opened with RU.

in the end, i had to write an autohotkey script.
1. run 'rutview.exe /rdp' - which will update the .rdp with the correct port number for 'full address:s:localhost:'
2. wait for the 'windows security' pop-up to appear asking for the rdp username/password.
3. kill that pop-up window.
4. copy the rdp from rdp_connections to temp.rdp
5. edit temp.rdp file to tweak the settings i need.
6. run temp.rdp using mstsc.exe but NOT rutview.exe
7. be happy

if you could take the .rdp file from RUViewer and add some values to the .rdp file, could you get it working that way?

if i copy
C:\data\c\remote.utilities\ru.viewer.portable\config_4.xml
C:\data\c\remote.utilities\ru.viewer.portable\connections_4.xml
to
C:\Users\user01\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files

then i can see my connections

more testing,
if i copy config_4.xml and connections_4.xml from C:\data\c\remote.utilities\ru.viewer.portable
to C:\Users\user01\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files
then when i run C:\data\c\remote.utilities\ru.viewer.portable\rutview.exe, i see all my connections

but if i do not copy those files, run will create NEW versions of those two files.
so it is clear that rut, running from

C:\data\c\remote.utilities\ru.viewer.portable

, is using settings from

C:\Users\user01\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files

also, using spaces for paths is lame, please use paths that do no use spaces such as  

\user01\AppData\Roaming\RemoteUtilitiesFiles

now when i start rut,  all my connections are missing?????
i am not able to remote into any host!
