I forgot settings protection password. What should I do?

Settings protection is used to password-protect the Host settings from being changed by the remote user. If you forget the settings protection password you will have to reset the Host settings in the Windows registry:

  1. On the Host computer press Win+R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Enter "regedit" without the quotes and press Enter. The Windows Registry Editor will open.
  3. In the registry editor delete the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Usoris\Remote Utilities Host and close the registry editor.

Important

Deleting the registry key above resets the Host settings to their defaults. This will also delete the chosen authentication method and access credentials. You will have to reconfigure the Host settings in order to be able to connect to this Host as before.
