I forgot address book encryption password. What should I do?

You use the address book encryption password (passphrase) to encrypt your address book stored on the local disc. Such encryption protects the contents of your address book. Even if your address book is stolen from your computer the information in the address book will be safe.

The other side of the coin is that you cannot unlock the address book without the passphrase that was used to encrypt it. If you forgot and cannot remember the passphrase the information in your address book has gone forever.
