Hello Paul,

Thank you for the clarification.

In this case, please note that this is known behavior which we’re already investigating and hope to implement a fix for it in our upcoming updates. Currently, the known workaround for this issue is using the Legacy Capture mode feature.

Let us know if you have more questions.

I have the same problem: I see the world map loading screen and nothing happens (I can ear the login sounds, however).
To be able to connect I need someone on the host to wake up the windows machine.
But this is a problem when near the host no one is available.
Is there a fix? I updated host and viewer, but same problem when the monitor is off.
Why the hell do I need to take the screen on to connect to the host pc? what to do if the pc has no screen at all? i.e.: a webserver...

Some applications have invisible areas if remote monitor is off. Why?

[UPDATE] I tried disabling "use legacy capture mode" on the host and restarted the host: it seems to work.

Hello Pauline,

I just checked and the remote host "use legacy capture mode" is already on.

Other application with same behaviour: Adobe Illustrator.
Please note that even  [censored] doesn't start if the monitor is off.
My question is: what to do if a desktop doesn't have the monitor attached?
TIA

Some applications have invisible areas if remote monitor is off. Why?

Hello,
I just discovered the cause the make some applications unusable (blank areas, mainly).
This happens when the remote monitor is OFF.
Example to reproduce the problem:
When I open a text file with Notepadd++ and the monitor is OFF, the text is invisible (you can't even sel ect it).
If I ask someone to switch the remote monitor ON, the text became visible and selectable/usable.
Why this behaviour? I work fr om home and I need to use the work remote pc.
But I can't ask someone to switch the monitor on every time I need to work remotely.
How can I solve this?
TIA

Using wifi that Block non standard ports

Support level: Free or trial
Hello all, I'm in hospital and I need to use RU to connect to my office pc. But outbound calls to non standard ports are blocked by hospital security/firewall.
How Can I bypass this?
Is there a way to change RU to use Port 80, for example?

[Resolved] some applications are unusable (blank from remote)

Hello Pauline,
it seems that the problem (for me) is related to the windows application "FlippingBook Publisher 2021.2".
I have no issues with all other installed applications.

Hello all, I'm trying to use Flippingbook Publisher application on windows 10 installed at office from my home using remote utilities.
All other applications runs normally, but this one opens as a blank canvas: unusable.
How can I do to make it work?
RU free is updated both on the host and the remote.
TIA for any help.

Here are my 2c:
why not leave the banner in the right corner (or the one the user would choose) and move it dinamically when the mouse is over it? Basically the user needs to read something under the banner. So, it should be enough to move it to the opposite corner (bottom left corner) when the user put the mouse over the banner.
This is the same concept of the chrome browser status bar: when the link you want to click it's near the bottom left corner of the browser windows, the destination link in the status bar is moved and displayed on the right corner as soon as you put the mouse over the link.
This will make the destination link (or the remote utilities banner) always readable/visible without affecting productivity.
