this problem just keeps coming back. same as before. bosses computer cant copy from the remote computer to the local computer. i can get on her remote computer and copy and paste works for me. i've check if she has any programs that could be interfering with remote utilities ability to copy and paste and i don't see anything that could be doing that. is there a way to set her remote utility viewer back to the default settings ?? are maybe something else to try ??
i check to make sure the host did not have "disable clipboard transfer" enabled. it is not. she still cannot copy a line of text from her remote computer and paste to her local computer. but i can log onto her same remote computer and copy from it, then paste to my local machine. it appears like the problem is with her viewer. does that make sense ?
not sure what happened, the copy and paste stopped working on my bosses computer. the problem is when she copies text from her remote computer to her local machine. both host and viewer have the lastest version of remote utility's. can someone help?
would like it if you could verify that i understand this correctly. i have a computer that i use for the viewer, is very slow, it connects to a host computer that is very fast. i have a pretty good internet connection between the 2 computers. on the viewer computer its best for me to put cpu usage at the lowest setting ?? my co-workers have fast computers with really good internet connections. best to put them on high cpu usage?? i've tried the different color modes and 8 bit works best. 4 bit is a bit to much degrading.
SUCCESS !! i was able to poke the holes thru the firewalls and make a direct connection. thanks for explaining to me whats happening "under the hood". i have further questions but i believe its best to start a new thread because it has nothing to do with "direct connection" more to do with cpu usage.
i think i understand, but just to be sure. the way i see things is that the host is sending a series of screenshots to the viewer. something like 15 per second. with direct connect the screenshots are sent directly from the host to the viewer. the other way is to send the screenshots to a relay server, ether yours or a private relay. that relay then sends the screenshots on to the viewer. seems to me direct connect would be much faster.a private relay on the host machine would also be very fast. i realize its alittle more complicated that just screenshots but basicly thats how things work. i'm i getting this right?
i understand that ru server helps connect computers. after the connection between 2 computers is made does the frame by frame info from one computer to the other also go thru the server ? or once connected, both computers communicate the frame by frame info directly to each other.
greetings, i'm new to remoteutilites and i like it but it seems slow to me as compared to [censored] . i see that remoteutilities has the possibility to use rdp. i remember rdp from years ago and it was crazy fast on the local lan. i'm wondering if anyone else is using it and has any tips. right now i have windows home edition and rdp is not available. if anyone else is using rdp and is having good results then i may upgrade to windows pro just so i can use it.
