FWIW, A4 page size is used in most English-speaking and countries *except* the USA (and Canada?) and all metric countries. So it would be Europe, UK, Israel, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, India, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

I am not in the US. Windows is set up for my country (South Africa). The only "US" setting is for my keyboard. All my printer drivers apart fr om the RU Printer driver are set to their default A4.

I have checked this on several PCs, including one that runs Windows 7. ALL of them default to the incorrect "Letter" size with the RU Printer driver, but other drivers like "PrimoPDF" and "Microsoft Print to PDF" correctly default to A4.

When I print to the "Remote Utilities Printer" the output comes out on the viewer end as Letter size, even when I sel ect an A4 printer like "PrimoPDF".

Applications like Microsoft Access get the page size information fr om the printer driver in use, and the result is that 1-page A4 reports get chopped off at the bottom and become 2 pages.

Where does the  "Remote Utilities Printer" driver get the information to use "Letter" size, or is it hard coded?

I have installed the "Remote Utilities Printer" driver, but when I go to "Printer Properties" is shows the page size as "Letter", not "A4". How do I change this? My applications are all configured for A4 pages.

Normally, I would click on "Preferences ...", but this driver doesn't have anything useful.
Any suggestions?

Could you please clarify if your Host and Viewer are both updated to the latest version  7.1.2.0  and there's no version mismatch?

Both instances are using the same version. The host is 7.1.2.0 and the viewer is 7.1.2.0.

If I connect to the host from a Windows 10 device running viewer 7.1.2.0 then the file copying works fine. But copying from the WinXP viewer gives me an error.

Viewer version 7 crashes on WinXP

I have two VirtualBox instances running WinXP. Version 7.1.2.0 doesn't support file copying, only remote viewing. I need to use RU to keep these two instances in sync with the same files (Access 97 database files).

Each instance is on a different PC.

Any suggestions?

Hi Polina
I am using Single Password authentication on the two machines that don't show the Task Manager, and on the machine where it works fine. One of the machines where it doesn't work uses a direct connection since it is a hosted server with a fixed IP address. The other two use public Internet-ID connections since they work behind NAT firewalls on WiFi.

I am happy to try out any setting changes you may wish to recommend.

Hi Conrad. Thanks for being so willing to help. All the boxes were checked. I have disabled chat and RDP, but the rest are as per the screen shot below. The changes didn't make any difference, even after restarting the host program.

The server shown is running Windows Server 2019 Datacenter, but the other one with the same issue is running Windows 8.1, so it doesn't appear to be linked to the OS.

Anything else I can try?

Both viewer and host are version 7.0.0.3. I deleted the config_4.xml file wich was 36k and the new one is much smaller. Still no change. A new host that I added today using 7.0.0.3 is also doing the same thing.
